Weeks 17, 18, and 19, Christmas Break Begins
We have been BUSY! Emma has done great progressing with school work, had her first gymnastics competition of the year, and it seems none of us can stop buying "just one more thing" for Christmas.
Algebra: Emma finished Pace 7 out of 12 last week. She got an A + on her test!
Ancient History/Literature: we have completed through lesson 40, other than those last 60 pages of "Homers Odyssy", which she has to finish before being officially on break.
Writing: we are just over halfway through her text, chapter 12 of 23. Emma continues to do her own creative writing almost every night.
Chemistry: we finished chapter 7.
French: we are in chapter 5, but only doing review of the entire semester this week.
Today is our last official day of school till early January.
Emma had her first gymnastics meet Sunday. She didn't do nearly as well as usual, but that is to be expected, since she missed 10 weeks due to her fractured spine and her coaches personal issues. She DID get a 9.1 on her floor routine, but even that high of a score didn't place her in the awards bracket.
We seem to either be at stores or receiving Amazon packages daily this month. I am SO appreciative to be alive and able to have this Christmas with my children, and this is the first year the girls have all had income of their own , so my house is chock full of wrapped presents. I had 14 people to buy for this year! ( 3 daughter's, 2 son in laws, 4 grandchildren, my boyfriend, an aunt, a mother in law, and 2 gym coaches) I MAY have gone a bit overboard on the daughter's, but I am so thankful to be alive this year and able to show my appreciation for all that my girls have done for me this year to help me make it through. We have Christmas with the aunt Thursday, Emma's gym party Friday, Christmas cookie baking day Saturday, Christmas Eve with oldest daughter and the grandkids Sunday, and then Monday is Christmas. My birthday is also coming up a few days after Christmas. Whew! What a fun, happy, but busy time of year!
